Ed Husic, the Australian Industry and Science Minister, lamented Labour’s inner culture after his plan to permit a discussion on recognising Gaza failed to pass.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese allegedly described his outburst at a conference as incompetent.
Husic responded by saying he was unperturbed by criticism, declaring reporters: "put me in a ice box, I couldn't care less."
The dispute followed previous efforts to push the party to officially acknowledge events in Gaza as genocide.
Party documents and internal files were later filed that revealed sharp splits within Labour’s ranks over policy and leadership.
