Spencer Matthews has recorded a new marathon PB of 2:49, with Runner's World reporting his training was built around maths, science, and consistency. The result marks a notable achievement for the British television personality now competing as an endurance athlete.

The time puts him among competitive amateur runners, and his approach to training has attracted interest for being unusually data-driven. Rather than relying on guesswork or intuition, Matthews used a calculated and consistent training method.

Matthews is married to Vogue Williams, who has drawn coverage of her own this week after hitting back at online criticism. Those critics took issue with her choices as a new mother by going out with her one-month-old baby. Williams responded publicly to the comments.
