An backyard astronomer using Google Maps stumbled upon a wide circular hollow in northern Quebec. Staff at Quebec’s geological survey confirmed it is a colossal meteorite impact crater roughly 390 million years near Lake Mistassini. The ground formation resembles other confirmed craters and points to a cataclysmic long-ago blow. Satellite images were it thoroughly cross-referenced field data to validate the finding.
