Rescue teams now warn the area has dangerous, strong currents that can pull swimmers down. A local resident said a recent drowning nearby made him issue a safety alert. Police also think a another girl might be missing from the same spot. In Maine, a lobsterman said his dog rescued a trapped seagull out of the water. Out in Los Angeles, a well-known face was spotted hanging out with friends. In North Carolina, a crowded dog adoption event drew regular people for the holiday.
