Highway 3 is shut from Hope to Manning Park, affecting local traffic. Wildfire activity rendered both lanes blocked, halting travel. Travellers now only use the Coquihalla Highway, avoiding the closure. The fire near Hope is burning northeast of the Coquihalla interchange, sending thick smoke. Smoke is heavy and readily to see, lowering visibility. A second blaze erupted south of Boston Bar on Tuesday. This second fire affects 300 hectares. It prompted officials to close Highway 1 in the same area. Two key routes into southern BC are now blocked.
